Social Neuroscience, Social Pedagogy and Education

My first acquaintance with the master's degree took place when I accidentally, in a search on the internet, saw its announcement for the spring semester of 2020. Until I applied, the truth is that I had various concerns. On the one hand, the program was about subjects that I had not dealt with before, having completed my undergraduate studies in literature. On the other hand, its title caught my attention from the very first moment and something told me that the program was an important opportunity that I should not miss.

I am now a postgraduate student. Due to the pandemic, we continued our lessons online in the best possible way and what I have gained so far during these months of lessons is much, much more than I expected.

First of all, I feel very lucky, because the professors we have met so far are fully trained and specialized, each in their own field, with a great willingness to pass on their knowledge, to guide us in what we need, to be our mentors.

Then there are all the classmates with whom we have developed a very good relationship in a very short period, we collaborate, we share ideas and concerns, and we form a very dynamic team.

Regarding the cognitive part, in a few months I think that I have gained a lot of knowledge through the modules that slowly introduce us to the concepts of Social Pedagogy, Social Informatics, Social Neuroscience, but also to their Methodological and Research Issues. We undertake work in the course, in order to better understand, to deepen what we are learning new, to think critically about them and to work together to achieve our goal each time. Certainly, our involvement with all this requires effort, enough time and personal will and search. But the benefits are many for all of us! I really feel lucky to be a member of this team and have embarked on this journey in our postgraduate course!
