At the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, under the responsibility and initiatives of the relevant Quality Assurance Unit, an Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) is being formed and implemented, which covers the entire range of the institution's functions and activities. The purpose of the IQAS is to achieve high operational quality and the continuous improvement of its educational and research work, as well as the effective work and performance of its services, in accordance with the international practices, especially those of the European Higher Education Area, and the principles and directions of ETHAAE. The IQAS includes all those procedures - processes required by the institution for the systematic evaluation (internal and external) and improvement of all the educational and research work carried out at the Joint Postgraduate Programme and the entire University, as well as the accreditation of its study programmes as required by the legislation. The scope of the IQAS is the accreditation of the Institution's Study Programmes, as well as the implementation of quality assurance in academia.

Since the establishment of the "Social Neuroscience, Social Pedagogy and Education" Joint Postgraduate Programme quality assurance and evaluation procedures have been adopted. These evaluation procedures include evaluation of the teaching work, as well as other academic activities. The Study Programme is systematically evaluated on an ongoing basis from both students and staff, as well as other interested parties.
